RECAP: Saturday April 18, 20094pm - 9pmLocated at : Cook Convention Center (map)Check out the Memphis recap video!The second stop of the Monster Energy 2009 DUB Show Tour made its way to Memphis, Tennessee on Saturday, April 18 at the Cook Convention Center. The event featured tons of the hottest cars that Memphis and surrounding areas had to offer. Car culture is certainly strong in Memphis, as more than 16 thousand people showed up for an afternoon of fun, entertainment and loads of eye candy in the form of highly customized vehicles. The Ball Up Tour featured some of the most well known and talented names in street ball, playing a game on a full court inside the Convention Center. Such players like “The Professor,” “Hawk,” and “Bad Santa” were in attendance, showing off their impressive moves on the court. The Monster Energy lounge provided guests with a place to relax, while drinking some of its most popular flavors. The booth also housed Kawasaki street bikes from the bike team. While there were tons of customized cars to feast your eyes on, the one that really stood out was the $2-million Scythe concept car by Galpin Auto Sports at the Pirelli booth featuring a hand-made composite body, voice-activated onboard computer system, and a twin-supercharged 1,005-horsepower engine! Another crowd favorite was the Tribute to Lowriding that brought all the Memphis area lowriding clubs with their old school classics. The Custom Bike Showcase featured some of the sickest creations you’ll ever see on two wheels. Big Wheels’ booth displayed tons of Chevys that had more than $100,000-worth of customizations to them including those owed by Zack Randolph of the Los Angeles Clippers and Darius Miles of the Memphis Grizzlies, also in attendance to greet their fans. Immortal Kustomz brought out some of their latest creations, including NBA Players Marc Gasol's ’09 Escalade and Chucky Atkins ’09 Mercedes Benz S63! Gamers got their fix at Rockstar’s Midnight Club: Los Angeles booth that allowed guests to play an exclusive demo of the game that featured the special Saleen 302E and win limited merchandise, including a chance to win a Kawasaki ZX 14 Street Bike! The Xbox 360 display also had their latest titles along with the “Lips Singing Challenge” and had tons of free giveaways. Over at the 2K Sports booth, gamers previewed The cars and booths weren’t the only forms of entertainment at the Memphis stop. Yo Gotti, Pleasure P, Gorilla Zoe, Novakane, Small World, King James III, President A.C, Maino and Kia Shine tore it up on the concert stage with their latest hits that had the crowd moving and grooving all night long! The performers were also seen at the various sponsor booths, signing autographs for fans and taking pictures with them. Thanks to everyone who made it out to the Memphis tour stop.
